GISBH CEO, top leaders remanded 7 days

Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH) CEO Nasiruddin Mohd Ali and his wife are among 19 individuals remanded for seven days starting today.

According to Bernama, the remand application for the individuals aged between 25 and 65 was submitted before magistrate Wan Noora Nisa Ngadirin at the Shah Alam Magistrate’s Court today.

They are currently being held at the Shah Alam district police headquarters.

The 19 individuals, comprising 12 men and seven women, believed to be senior leaders of GISBH, arrived at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Court Complex at about 2.50pm.

Earlier, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said the 19 were arrested in a joint operation between Bukit Aman’s D8 Division and the Criminal Investigation Department at four residential units in Tower A, Berjaya Times Square, Jalan Imbi, Bukit Bintang, at 5.40am.

Reports indicate that besides Nasiruddin, others arrested include his wife and children, as well as children of former al-Arqam leader, the late Ashaari Mohammad.

Previously, the police raided 20 welfare homes allegedly run by GISBH and rescued almost 400 children, some of whom had reportedly been sodomised.

GISBH denied operating the homes raided, and initially denied abusing the children under its care.

Nasiruddin, however, later admitted that there were “one or two” cases of sodomy but that this should not be used to tar the whole organisation.

Ashaari formed GISBH after the government banned al-Arqam as a deviant sect.
